Microsoft Cloud Taps Xignite for Web Services Data

Xignite, a provider of on-demand data delivered through web services, is in the process of implementing the first of its data services that will be available via Microsoft's new DataMarket cloud-based content store - part of the software giant's Windows Azure Marketplace, which launched last week.

The vendor is halfway through implementing its XigniteCurrencies web service - which provides real-time, historical and forward cross rates for global currency pairs, as well as conversions, tick data
