Active Software Buys Alier For Its Network Data Model (NDM)


Santa Clara, Calif.--Active Software has bought Alier, a supplier of data mapping and integration tools for the financial industry, for $48 million in stock and cash.

Alier, based in Berkeley, Ca., has a strong presence in Europe where ABN Amro, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, and other banks and financial firms are using its products, Active Software says.

Alier's Java-based application integration tools allow customers to rapidly design financial instruments for use across different applications
