Getco Enhances Algo Suite

New York Stock Exchange
Getco's partnership with Mismi allows NYSE floor brokers access to the suite through handheld devices.

Aimed at institutional investors, the high-frequency trading firm's GETAlpha offering now contains benchmark and liquidity-seeking strategies for operating cross-venue models. These include standard volume-weighted average price, percentage of volume, time-weighted average price, optimal alpha, smart order-routing, implementation shortfall and an opportunistic algorithm which allows for passive liquidity without crossing the spread.

"Our algorithmic products were specifically designed to take into account the complexities associated with sourcing different venues for liquidity in a highly technical, fast-moving marketplace," says Chase Lochmiller, managing director of algorithmic trading at Getco. "These strategies are being fine-tuned to respond to the evolving market on a monthly, weekly and even a daily basis. At Getco, we understand that the markets move at lightning speed. We provide our customers with algorithmic innovation on a similar time frame."

Getco is offering its suite via most order management system vendors or through direct connection, as well as distributing to NYSE floor brokers through a partnership with Mismi.
