Market EarlyBird Bows Event-Tracking Twitter Tool for US Inauguration
The vendor and its clients see tweets relating to political events as a potential source of alpha.
Last year, Market EarlyBird added a SmartTrack feature for tracking information about a particular stock or company. It combines multiple searches for each entity and consolidates tweets from a company's Twitter "cashtag" along with references to the company name, and tweets from C-level executives' Twitter accounts into a single feed. The vendor also analyzes the tweet's style, form and content against the typical information in financial tweets or news to see if the tweet contains colloquial
