While markets across Asia grapple with the arrival of off-exchange trading platforms, one country already has years of experience under its belt. Japan, which issued its first proprietary trading system license in 1998, has seen slow but steady growth of the platforms in the last 10 years. Other Asian exchanges might take note-the platforms are there, but they have yet to take significant market share from the traditional exchanges.
