Choosing a KYC Solution Depends on Information Needed

A panel at Waters USA said firms need to know what information they want before choosing vendors.

Manash Banerjee, executive director at Nomura Securities, said firms must define what information they want from KYC data before choosing a vendor.

"It depends on how you definite onboarding. If you define it very broadly then there's no vendor that currently provides a complete end-to-end solution," Banerjee said. "Some solutions provide Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (Fatca) and KYC but nothing yet provides you with everything from legal to hierarchies."

He added that vendors do provide
