Friends Provident Completes Conversion Of DST International's Year 2000 Upgrade

LONDON--Friends Provident has just completed the upgrade to the Year 2000 compliant version of DST International's Hiportfolio/2 portfolio management and accounting system. The investment management company, which has £22 billion in assets under management, had been using an earlier edition of the system, and it made the switch to the current edition the weekend of May 23. The upgrade included the conversion of a 6.5-gigabyte database that lasted approximately 30 hours.
