Oppenheimer Capital Ports Nids To Unix For Wrap Fees

Oppenheimer Capital Inc. (OPCAP), the parent of upscale broker/dealer Oppenheimer & Co. (OPCO), is looking to port its National Investors Data Services Inc. (NIDS/Port) portfolio management system to a UNIX platform. OPCAP is readying a wrap fee program that will utilize the sales force of its Quest For Value Advisors mutual funds operation and is expecting increased business that will require higher capacity afforded by a UNIX-based portfolio management system, sources say.
