Moody's Buys Mergent Pricing

Ratings agency Moody's last month inked a deal to buy Xinhua Finance subsidiary Mergent's Pricing and Evaluation Services business for an undisclosed sum to create an evaluations division combining Mergent's corporate and municipal bond pricing with Moody's model-based valuations for structured securities. As part of the deal, Mergent will license its database of terms and conditions data for fixed income securities to Moody's.
