BNP/Paribas Data Architects Push New Display Paradigm

LONDON--Paribas, now owned by Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP), is evaluating a purely component-based approach to market data display, alongside front-end applications offered by traditional market data vendors.

The idea behind the component-based system is to use Microsoft ActiveX controls in a native ActiveX container, say sources close to the company. Data from multiple sources can then be fed into the ActiveX controls. "With such a set up, there would be no need for a data vendor provided
