Wells Fargo, Nikko Merge Investment Technologies

Wells Fargo & Co., the premier U.S. passive money manager, has teamed up with Japanese giant Nikko Securities Co. in a joint venture that will combine their computer-aided investment management businesses. San Francisco-based Wells units, Wells Fargo Investment Advisors and Wells Fargo Bank Advisors Trust, are expected to merge with Nikko's passive investment management businesses this fall, following regulatory approval.
