"In my former life as a trader I benefited from secure and efficient trade execution via electronic marketplaces and I am delighted to now have the opportunity to promote those benefits in new markets," he says.

Bennett will be responsible for developing the iron ore, freight, fuel oil and other Cleartrade markets in Europe and North America. CEO Richard Baker says that Bennett's 20 years of experience allows him to relate to Cleartrade's members and understand their needs under new derivatives regulatory regimes around the world.

His previous roles include as an options trader at MF Global, head of indices and foreign exchange at Cantor Fitzgerald, and futures trader at Sunshine Futures.
