Friedman Returns to Nasdaq, Jochumsen Promoted President

Friedman's position is newly created and she will be responsible for overseeing the strategy and operations of the information and technology businesses, and she will additionally have financial responsibility for those segments. She will report to CEO Bob Greifeld and will be based out of New York.

Prior to this move, Friedman joined the Carlyle Group as its CFO in 2011 after having served in various roles at Nasdaq since 1993. Friedman is said to have been a central driver of Nasdaq's acquisition strategy previously, helping orchestrate the purchases of INET, OMX, as well as the Philadelphia and Boston exchanges.

In addition, Hans-Ole Jochumsen, currently executive vice president, has been promoted to the role of president of global trading and market services. Jochumsen had previously been responsible for the Nordic and Baltic markets, growing the exchange operator's footprint in the European equities markets.
