Euronext.liffe to Dump Sun Servers

CHICAGO—Euronext.liffe has begun replacing Sun Microsystems Solaris servers used as exchange gateways with Linux-Intel hardware from Hewlett-Packard (HP), a Euronext.liffe official tells DWT.

The improved price/performance and scalability of the Linux-Intel servers won the day for HP, says James Johanik, senior vice president, U.S. technology strategy for Euronext.liffe. The replacement of hardware at client sites, which could result in the swapping out of as many as 1,500 servers worldwide
