Kalahari Buys the Beast
BEFORE THE SPIN
In case you were wondering, the treasury products source code from the now-defunct Beast Financial Systems is owned by Beast competitor Kalahari, maker of real-time analytic solutions, whose uses include those for derivatives trading.
As you may recall, the Beast roared its last in July 2003 after nearly 10 years (TTW, Aug. 4, 2003). It’s still a little mysterious why the Beast had trouble finding its footing with customers.
