Appro Rolls Out Hybrid Server

The new 1U server, which has already been put into production with several select clients, combines the Nvidia Tesla GPU with a Xeon 5500- or 5400-powered Appro server in order to maximize processing power, according to John Lee, vice president of advanced technology solutions for Appro. "We are trying to get our customers the best bang for the buck," Lee says. "We are just bumping up the performance as much as possible … by doing a hybrid computing model," he adds.
