NEW YORK—Barclays Capital (BarCap) is on the verge of solving a message latency problem that is wreaking havoc on the trading models of its buy-side clients with a low-latency, direct market access (DMA) solution for futures trading.

The soon-to-be live DMA solution for the futures market is 90 percent done, says Stephane DiTullio, director and head of e-futures at BarCap. "We're tweaking a few things," DiTullio says.

The new offering is based on co-locating a hedge fund's servers in a local BT
