IBM Readies Diskless On-Demand Environment

The new option will allow users to avoid using the server's disk drive and use only its processing power, according to Christina Cunningham, project executive for the worldwide DCCoD at IBM. "You can take the disk and totally disable it so that all of the work on the application level is done on the processor level," she says, adding that the Dynamic option is designed for users who want to make sure that there is no trace of their data left on the server's disk drive.
