Orc Software to Take FAST Native

"It's part of the same initiative of restructuring our code to reduce latency," says John Cameron, CTO of Orc Software. "We're trying to reduce latency by 80 percent," he adds. So far, all of new engine's performance numbers have been generated in internal lab testing by the vendor and not in a production environment, says Cameron.

Although many in the industry see FAST as a method to reduce market data bottlenecks, Cameron says that it's also applicable to high-frequency and algorithmic trading
