3Tera Adds Solaris Support

Until now, a vast majority of the firm's clients were running on the Linux operating system (OS), says Barry Lynn, chairman and CEO for 3Tera.

The vendor's ultimate goal is to release AppLogic as an OS-agnostic platform, Lynn says. Although the platform can currently support any OS, 3Tera needs time to sufficiently test each system, he adds. According to Lynn, testing for one OS takes about 90 days.

By the second quarter or the beginning of third quarter, AppLogic plans to support Microsoft
