Enigmatec Spins Off Cloudsoft

The new venture, dubbed Cloudsoft, is a result of tinkering in Enigmatec's "CTO skunk works," says Johnston-Watt. Enigmatec tweaked a bit of intellectual property that it had acquired to provide a dynamic run-time environment to test Enigmatec's control plane.

According to Johnston-Watt, the vendor reached a point of deciding whether to develop the run-time environment further.

"We decided that we couldn't go forward with this in Enigmatec because it would be too confusing to have two products
