Carnegie Bank Upgrades PC Blades

The deployment will occur in phases, starting with 50 trading positions, according to ClearCube CEO Randy Printz.

The bank selected the vendor's latest platform, which incorporates "PC over IP" (PCoIP) technology that eliminates previous version's 300 meter-distance limitation between the desktop and PC blade. "Now the PC can be in a New York datacenter and the traders could be in Charlotte, N.C., or London and they wouldn't notice the difference," says Printz. However, Printz acknowledges that
