HP Debuts Datacenter POD

The HP Performance-Optimized Data Center (POD) is designed to offer a mini version of a brick-and-mortar datacenter in a shipping container look-alike deployed faster and cheaper. HP is currently speaking to its customers about the offering and expects to have first adopters using the HP POD during the fourth quarter of this year, according to Christian Post, director of supply chain management for the scalable computing and infrastructure unit of HP and the lead on the vendor's container
