ADP Issues RFP For Satellite System To Replace Existing Terrestrial/Satellite Network

Automatic Data Processing Inc. has issued a request for proposal for 4,000 very small aperture terminals (VSATs) as part of plans to replace its existing terrestrial/satellite- based network, which supports both the front- and back-office services of ADP's Brokerage Information Services Group. Sources say the replacement program is aimed at reducing the data vendor's huge network costs.

According to the RFP, ADP is seeking network transmission speeds of at least 38.4 kilobits/second and up to 56
