CBOT Brings Open Outcry To Screen; Chicago Slugfest Dominates FIA Meeting

In an attempt to seize the global futures trading initiative from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade unveiled plans for Aurora, an off-hours "electronic auction market," and EOS, an electronic order- routing system.

The announcements came during the Futures Industry Association Convention March 15-18 in Boca Raton, Fla.

Futures industry executives were the object of intensive lobbying by both the CME and the CBOT on behalf of their respective off-hours trading systems
