NYMEX Particpation In Globex May Help Automate Spot Trading

The New York Mercantile Exchange's plan to trade energy futures on the Globex after-hours electronic trading system may set the stage for Reuters Holdings PLC to automate the spot oil market.

On Jan. 5, NYMEX became the first exchange to become a partner in Globex, which is being jointly developed by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Reuters. The Globex network will be operated by Reuters and will use a version of the new Dealing 2000 transactional system Reuters has developed for the currency
