Summit Opts For CORBA As It Plans Version 2.6 Of Its Application Suite

MIDDLEWARE & MESSAGING

NEW YORK--Summit Systems has endorsed the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) from the Object Management Group (OMG) over the Component Object Model (COM) architecture from Microsoft as it prepares a foreign exchange and position-keeping application that will run on top of version 2.6 of the Summit suite of derivatives and risk management software.

The CORBA decision is one of the few areas where Summit has parted company with Microsoft, and it is the first of many changes to come
