SURVEY SHOWS GROWTH IN BOND PLATFORMS

A survey by the New York-based Bond Market Association (BMA) shows that there are now 39 firms that offer electronic transaction services in US fixed-income securities, compared to 26 in 1998, and only 11 in 1997. The BMA released the results of its survey at its annual conference last week in New York. The BMA groups the growing number of services into four categories: dealer systems; cross-matching systems; primary market auction systems; and interdealer
