Beacon Lights Up Boston Exchange; BSE Installs Automated Order-Routing Network

The Boston Stock Exchange is in the final stages of implementing its $3 million automated communications and order-routing network, known as BEACON.

The system, which was jointly developed by the BSE and Stratus Computer Inc., uses three fault-tolerant Stratus OLTP systems to process quote and trade information and to automatically execute and report trades.
