Given the rate of inflation and the weak dollar, it doesn't look good for Wall Street.

In every downturn, the natural reaction is to invest more in operations and improve efficiency to reduce costs rather than invest in initiatives for seeking alpha. However, firms have to be careful of the "irrational frugality" in cutting front-office IT budgets in favor of the middle- and back-office initiatives.
