Thorn EMI Acquires FTS, Informatik Forum To Support Global Expansion Strategy

Thorn Software, a subsidiary of Thorn EMI, has established itself as a formidable competitor in global trading systems with the acquisition of financial software companies in New York and West Germany.
On July 14, Thorn Software announced it had acquired Financial Trading Systems Inc. of New York for $35 million and Informatik Forum GmbH of Aachen, West Germany for 4.5 million DM ($2.5 million).
