NYSE Asks SEC To Expedite Off-Hours Proposal Despite Firestorm Of Criticism From Exchanges

The New York Stock Exchange wants the Securities and Exchange Commission to accelerate approval of its after-hours trading proposals in the face of intense opposition. Four regional stock exchanges and the National Association of Securities Dealers have asked the SEC not to approve the NYSE's proposed rule changes.

The NYSE had asked the SEC for exemptive and interpretive relief from provisions of the Securities Exchange Act for a new series of rules governing its proposed off-hours trading
