Opening Cross: Pumping Up the Volume Isn't Anti-Social

A new study by American Century Investments shows that social media is creeping into finance-or perhaps the other way round, with firms using sites like Facebook and Twitter to promote themselves. In fact, survey respondents cited market news, expert commentary, and trends and projections as examples of data they would want to receive from asset managers via social media (though almost a quarter said they didn't want to receive any information via social media).

However, according to the survey
