OMSs Must Overcome Database Bottlenecks
Order management system (OMS) vendors face a dilemma: They can open their platforms to third-party risk management tools and deal with the performance degradation due to accessing databases, or they can opt not to open their systems and potentially lose clients to vendors that do.
"The challenges firms have with adopting separate OMSs and execution management systems (EMSs) is that separate databases really slow down applications," says Gavin Little-Gill, global head of asset management strategy
