It sometimes seems we’re doomed to repeat the same arguments about who’s to blame in industry forums and discussion groups on the subject of corporate actions standardization year in, year out. Standards are developed by the relevant bodies such as ISO in cooperation with a select group of engaged firms (read, largely sell-side) and published, only to linger in the background as the rest of the market pretty much ignores them.
