Dark Liquidity Reaches Record High in Europe
Dark equity volumes reached a new high of 10.27 percent of total European equity trading, jumping 16 percent from June's mark. The previous high of 9.08 percent occurred in January of this year. In euros, January dark trading rose 12.1 percent from EUR67 billion in June to EUR75 billion in July. The 75 billion figure was 6.6 percent higher than the previous high of EUR71 billion in May.
Volume was split roughly evenly between multilateral trading facilities (MTFs), of the type operated by BATS
