Optimark Gets Knighted

Continuing its push for liquidity, Optimark Technologies (www.optimark.com) signed a three-year deal with Knight/Trimark (www.trimarksecurities.com) in which Knight can earn warrants in Optimark based on the number of trades it puts into the system. Could Knight ultimately earn enough to be majority shareholders? You bet. But they haven't discussed ownership at this point, says Knight spokesperson Russell Dubner. "When they looked at it, Knight thought they could bring volume," Dubner says.
