Cawley Takes Control at BGC's SEF with Eyes on the Client
James Cawley certainly has an entrepreneurial spirit about him. Twice the University of Pennsylvania graduate built companies from the ground up. First there was IDX Capital, a boutique credit-derivative broker Cawley co-founded, followed by Javelin Capital Markets, a SEF that he founded in 2009, and stepped down from in 2014. So when interdealer broker BGC Partners came calling looking for someone to head up its own SEF, Cawley jumped at the chance to work at a firm he felt shared his approach
