ePIT (www.epit.com) wants to take open outcry into cyberspace. The San Francisco-based firm is developing Internet-based electronic exchange technology for direct-access trading of securities and commodities. Users can see the complete electronic order book and directly control their own order execution. ePIT plans to partner with existing exchanges. Fees will be based on a seat subscription model, and entry to all ePIT markets will be via a Java client application that runs on a local computer
