OpCap's Strategy: Unix Nids For Domestic, Pacer For Int'l

Oppenheimer Capital L.P. (OpCap), the money management unit of Oppenheimer Management Corp., will soon begin beta-testing a distributed Unix version of National Investors Data Services Inc.'s (Nids) portfolio management system. Following the beta tests, which will begin this spring, the firm plans to deploy the system for its full community of domestic account users. Meanwhile, for a new international accounts division--established Jan. 1--OpCap has begun using Financial Models Co.'s Pacer
