Instinet to take Asian dark-pool plunge
Instinet's alternative trading system (ATS) operator Chi-X Global expects to launch its Chi-X Japan and Chi-East non-displayed trading platforms this summer. The new trading venues will be operated by the vendor's Chi-X Asia Pacific unit, which also plans to launch Chi-X Australia in the fourth quarter, says Ronald Gould, chief executive of Chi-X Asia Pacific. Chi-X Global is waiting for regulatory approval before launching the Chi-X Japan platform, which it began developing in November 2009.
