CFTC Establishes Subcommittee for HFT Analysis

The new subcommittee aims to analyze HFT and automated trading ahead of regulatory measures.

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has announced that it will establish a subcommittee to look at automated and high-frequency trading (HFT).

The new group will be under the umbrella of the existing Technology Advisory Committee (TAC). Its initial task will be to develop a precise definition of HFT within the context of wider automated trading in financial markets.
