It’s easy to understand why Rick Lane left Trading Technologies (TT) last year—it’s hard to resist the siren song of Google and all that working for the tech giant entails, and his wife liked the idea of living in New York City.

Lane co-founded TickIt Trading Systems, which was acquired by TT in June 2010. He spent the next year-and-a-half working for TT helping to integrate TickIt's visual programming platform, Algo Design Lab (ADL), into TT's flagship X_Trader order-entry screen.
