GAO Finds Weaknesses In Processing, Delivery Systems Of Data Vendors

The General Accounting Office last month quietly released "Information Vendors Need SEC Oversight to Control Automation Risks," a report to the Securities and Exchange Commission that identified potentially disruptive weaknesses in the data processing and dissemination systems of seven market data vendors. These vendors claim that such oversight isn't warranted and that they should be given the opportunity to act voluntarily before being subjected to SEC controls.
