FpML.org was formed in July as a non-profit organization with a board of directors consisting of senior derivatives executives from major market participants, and working groups devoted to developing new product applications for the Financial Products Markup Language (FpML) standard.

FpML version 1.0, which was launched in July, communicates interest-rate swaps and forward rate agreements only, says Guy Gurden, a vice president at JP Morgan and chair of the FPML.org interest-rate derivatives
