Dun & Bradstreet Pulls IDC And Datastream From The Sales Block

Citing "current conditions in financial markets worldwide," Dun & Bradstreet Corp. has withdrawn its Interactive Data Corp. and Datastream International Ltd. subsidiaries from the sales block. The move follows decisions by Knight-Ridder Inc. and others to back out of talks regarding a possible purchase.

How firm Dun & Bradstreet's withdrawal will be remains to be seen. It's unlikely that the company would now turn away any would-be suitor willing to make a sensible offer. But by pulling the units
