Nasdaq Adds History For Algorithms

The Nasdaq Stock Market last week introduced ModelView, a Web-based historical data service aimed at improving the execution quality of trading algorithms.

ModelView, which launched on Monday, Aug. 1, takes snapshots of data from Nasdaq's TotalView feed at one-minute intervals and makes them available via either secure FTP download or the Nasdaq Trader Web site. Nasdaq makes the data available at 7:30 every morning.

William O'Brien, senior vice president of market data distribution at Nasdaq, says
