Instinet Highlights Reuters' 1Q Results; Americas Languish

Although it warned last year that it could not assure double digit revenue growth this year, Reuters did indeed deliver that kind of growth in the first quarter--14 percent, or 9 percent excluding currency fluctuations. Highlighting the quarter's results was a hefty 58 percent increase in Instinet's revenues--54 percent, ex-currency. Meanwhile, the slowdown continued in recurring sales of information products, reflecting lower levels of demand due to consolidation in the financial markets
