S&P Prepares Fund Insight for Launch

Standard and Poor’s (S&P) is releasing its mutual fund research tool Fund Insight in Europe and the US next year after nearly two years of development.

The product will launch in Europe first in the first quarter of 2004, a decision that was "very deliberate," says Vipul Nakum, director of product development at S&P. There is more cross-selling of funds in Europe, he says, noting that European asset managers are more likely to buy foreign funds, whereas US asset managers are mainly focused on
