FAST Gets Faster
The second generation of the FIX FAST protocol has slashed the prior benchmarks, officials say. The new version can process rates of more than 10 million messages per second with an encoding latency of 50 nanoseconds using 0.8 gigabits of bandwidth for the Arca datafeed, and five million mps, an encoding latency of 100 ns and uses 0.7 gps for the Opra feed, Pantor Engineering officials say.
